The Campbellfield factory produces confectionary brands such as Kit Kat, Nestlé, Milky Bar, Smarties, Aero, Chokito and many more which delight consumers worldwide.

In this full-time permanent role, the Food Safety Coordinator will lead and ensure effective implementation of the Food Safety Management System, including HACCP and all Pre-Requisite Programs (PRPs).

A day in the life…

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Ensure effective implementation of the HACCP program, including plan, review and revision; alignment with QMS and SAP inspection plans; and verification and validation of control measures.
  2. Define, implement and verify the effectiveness of the PRPs; including, but not limited to, Zoning; Pest Management; Cleaning Validation &
  3. Verification; Pathogen Monitoring; Foreign Body prevention; Hygiene & Housekeeping; Allergen Management; and GMP.
  4. Ensure effective implementation of vendor assurance requirements, including SAP VAM maintenance.
  5. Ensure appropriate monitoring of the food safety of materials and vendors (microbial and contaminants).
  6. Support the NPD process through the risk assessment of new raw materials and processes.
  7. Support engineering projects by conducting risk assessments and providing advice about cleanability, hygienic design, and site standards.
  8. Support the Maintenance and Industrial Services teams by providing technical support
  9. Support Production in ensuring GMP standards are adhered to.
  10. Participate in the factory’s internal audit programme.
  11. Ensure the performance of structured root cause analysis after incidents related to food safety or hygiene failures have occurred.
  12. Own and deliver training related to HACCP, housekeeping, hygiene and other food safety elements.
  13. Actively participate in NCE & TPM pillars and activities, delivering to the requirements outlined in the methodology.

What will make you successful

  • Joining a collaborative team, you will be self-motivated and proactive and have a proven capacity to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Tertiary qualification in Food Science or related field of study.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a quality specialist, preferably in HACCP.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and a proven capacity to influence and negotiate to drive high performance and quality standards.
  • Passionate about working for Nestlé and sharing its purpose.
