This position is located in the U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), in the Dallas Regional Office.

  • Reviews FOIA and PA requests received by the region. Ensures that Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act (PA) requests are processed in accordance with applicable regulations, laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Independently analyzes FOIA and PA requests and determines the appropriate response. Makes preliminary determinations of exposure for a wide variety of materials, including but not limited to witness statements and personal financial data. Reviews all applicable laws and regulations to determine the proper exemptions to be used.
  • Redacts documentation in accordance with all applicable guidelines and regulations to ensure that only releasable OSHA inspection information is released.
  • Prepares written responses within the prescribed timeframes to requests for information under FOIA and the PA. Ensures that all legal citations are appropriate and accurate.
  • Ensures that correspondence generated is clear, concise, contain proper grammar, spelling, and format, and includes information about exemptions, if appropriate.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship and must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-05, in the Federal Service.

3. Community Planner (Government-Wide)

This position serves as a Community Planner at the Department of Transportation. The Community Planner will serve as a key technical advisor for transportation planning programs and project development.

A consultation will be provided to leadership, state-level transportation offices, Metropolitan Planning Organization(s), and local government officials regarding the programs.

Duties

  • Serves as an expert resource on Department of Transportation/Operating Administration (DOT/OA) procedures and guidance on transportation community planning and Federal laws, regulations, Executive Orders, and directives for one or more of the following: maritime, tribal, urban, suburban, and/or rural public transportation systems.
  • Keeps current as to recent or emerging changes affecting the program or projects.
  • Develops regulations, position papers, and instructions related to community planning aspects of DOT/OA programs.
  • Reviews the office programs in community planning for technical and program management effectiveness; make reports and offers suggestions for improvement based on findings.
  • Provides technical advice and coordinates planning or related problems or projects with stakeholders.
  • Has a substantial and continuing responsibility for representing the organization in negotiations with officials of stakeholder organizations whose decisions and activities have important implications for the overall planning program.

The Department of Transportation is seeking Environmental Protections Specialists. In this role, you will analyze and interpret the implications of Federal, state, and local environmental regulations for the government and other agencies.

The work is principally focused on the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), but also involves other environmental compliance regulations and Executive Orders (e.g., Endangered Species Act, Environmental Justice, etc.).

Duties

  • Serve as a senior Advisor in an Office Administration’s Division Office on policy, laws, regulations, Executive Orders, and directives related to NEPA and Office Administration’s project development processes.
  • Leads, advises stakeholders and partner agencies on integrating complex environmental and transportation planning processes and other approaches to improve the linkages between planning and human and natural environmental issues.

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in analyzing and interpreting the potential environmental impacts of Federal and state infrastructure projects and other activities, as well as leading a team performing the environmental reviews for these projects and activities.

5. Government Bank Card Manager

You will serve as a Government Bank Card Manager in the Supply/Travel Division of CTR for AVIATION TECHNOL TRNG.

Duties

  • You will develop performance standards and training plans to ensure the professional development of staff.
  • You will analyze program strategies to determine compliance with Government Commercial Purchase Card regulations, procedures, or management practices.
  • You will review internal operating procedures to ensure compliance with federal (e.g., Department of Defense, Department of Navy) purchase card policies.
  • You will review yearly, quarterly, and over-and-above funding requirements and track expenditures.
  • To recommend corrective action, you will identify infractions made by purchase cardholders.
  • You will use and monitor automated systems (e.g., CFMS) for financial transactions including OnePay and US Bank Access.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Education In line with specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or a combination of both education and experience:

  • Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. OR
  • Have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education, leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. OR
  • Have successfully completed an LL.M. degree related to the position being filled. OR
  • Have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that, equates to one year of experience. Your percentage of the required education plus your percentage of the required experience equals one hundred percent.
