The Mission

The role will support production activities in our manufacturing facility in Ottobrunn, Germany.

The ideal candidate would possess experience in the fabrication of advanced composites, including wet and pre-preg hand lamination, resin infusion, and filament winding techniques.

The candidate will also have experience and familiarity with ply cutting and kitting, trimming, sanding, and drilling operations related to composite manufacturing.

The candidate will also help develop workshop infrastructure and equipment, as well as work to improve the manufacturing process continuously.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate structural components through hand lamination.
• Operate filament winding equipment and support in the fabrication of wound parts.
• Operate CNC ply cutting table. Program nesting and cutting operations.
• Trim and drill composite components according to engineering drawings.
• Participate in daily fabrication operations.
• Assist in the design of jigs and fixtures for drilling, bonding, and assembly.
• Train other team members on equipment or processes.
• Perform other duties to assist various departments or teams within Isar Aerospace.

Requirements

• Educational background in composite technologies and manufacturing.
• At least two years of experience with advanced composite fabrication (preferably carbon pre-preg).
• Knowledge of various fabrication techniques, including filament winding, hand-layup, compression molding, and VARTM (vacuum-assisted resin transfer molding).
• Knowledge and capability to build a vacuum bag using specified materials.
• Ability to adapt to constantly and rapidly changing work environments.
• Ability to read technical drawings.
• Good level of spoken and written English.
• Experience with filament winding operations is preferred.
• Experience with ovens or autoclaves preferred.
• Aerospace background or familiarity with aerospace manufacturing techniques and standards.

Skills
