The role:
The Domain Architect is a pre-sales role which engages with our customers to deliver Telco and ICT-focused solutions.
The role collaborates with other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop solutions consisting of multiple technologies to address clients’ and prospects’ business needs in a converged ICT services market.
The role will have a primary and secondary speciality in one of the following technologies:
- Telecommunications products;
- Routing and switching;
- WLAN/WAN Optimisation.
- Data Centre
The position plays a vital role in sales engagement, driving both customer experience and financial outcomes by providing technical expertise during the pre-sales phase.
The role also provides a key link between the sales and professional services delivery teams. The Domain Architect will have significant experience in consultative and creative solution selling and expertise in developing solutions that meet customer requirements.
The Domain Architect exhibits in-depth technical knowledge of one of the above specialities to deliver solutions to Optus customers.
The position holder must have a strong background in telecommunications, information technology, applications and implementation/migration issues across a range of industries and markets. They must be capable of developing innovative/complex plans within their speciality.
Experience/requirements:
- Analyse customer requirements and develop customer focussed high-quality solutions to meet customer needs which may often include complex solution architectures.
- Assisting the Sales Team with pre-Sales activities such as providing demonstrations, presentations, consultation and sales support services.
- Assist the Sales Team in articulating our solution’s relevance (by developing the CVP and/or ROI) to the customer.
- Provide expertise around risk and risk mitigation requirements for solutions.
- Work with Optus internal groups and third-party vendors from pre-sales to hand-over to the transition team responsible for the solution’s implementation.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with Sales, MS&D and the broader Optus community.
- Engage with product management to assist with developing new capabilities.
- Engage with vendors to develop new customer solutions.
- Consider logistical approaches to improve our commercial position.
- Support Sales in developing and executing winning Account Plans for Key Accounts.
Would be ideal if you have the:
- Minimum 8 years of relevant technical design experience.
- Minimum two years Pre-Sales experience.
- Significant experience in consultative and creative solution selling; experience in developing solutions that meet a customer’s requirement.
