As one the largest Independent Solar Developers in Europe my client already owns and operates over 3GW’s of PV assets in France, Germany, and the UK. Now actively developing in Italy their growth strategy of land acquisition and M&A has already led to a predicted pipeline of over 1GW predicted by 2025.
The ROLE
Reporting directly to the Head of Development, the Land Manager will have responsibility for securing land rights, building landowner and relevant stakeholder contacts, negotiation and drafting and securing agreements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Land Manager is responsible for securing the land agreements to allow planning, construction, operation, maintenance and decommissioning of a PV farm
- Due diligence, from land management point of view, of projects to be acquired.
- Contact landowners, prepare land lease agreement drafts, negotiate and ensure agreements being signed by both parties.
- At development close, to check and report land agreement coverage within the project area and assist with documentation for the Project Information Memorandum (PIM).
- Contact road associations (and other jointly owned areas), prepare road use agreements and ensure agreements being signed by both parties. If necessary, assist road associations with official meetings.
- During the transaction phase, answer the investor’s questions. Budget costs for the land agreements during the construction phase. Update data rooms (VDR) with required documentation. Personally, or in collaboration with GIS Engineers, produce map material that illustrates the agreements signed in the project.
- The Land Manager has responsibility for land agreements and land survey and land owner information being entered and constantly updated in the Land Management Support System.
- Registration of signed land lease agreements at National Land Survey. Meet investors’ demands for preferential arrangement regarding signed agreements, which include landowner contacts and dialogue with banks.
- Develop and follow project specific Communication Plan in cooperation with project team.
- Arrange land owner meetings during all project phases to keep them informed about the project and it´s progress and be available for questions from landowners.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Land Surveying, Environmental Engineering or Law
- Work experience for example in forestry sales/purchasing, land use planning or land acquisition
