Job Description:

• Develop, implement, and maintain enterprise ontologies to support Capital One’s Data Strategy. – Own and maintain agreed-upon data definitions, ensuring stakeholders adhere to specified data standards.
• Ensure data quality, manage compliance with data standards, and define data use cases. – Build partnerships to understand business problems and support data-driven solutions.
• Support modeling of attributes, entities, and products for business applications.
• Advocate for the value of semantic technology and knowledge organization concepts.

Responsibilities

• Define problem statements and deliver results using ontologies and optimized data models. – Use customer insights to influence priorities and drive alignment between stakeholders.
• Prioritize Ontology and Data Modeling roadmap to deliver business outcomes.
• Define standardization practices and ensure global and semantic standards are followed. – Inventory and catalog data products and entities across all tools.
• Communicate and advocate for Capital One’s efforts in ontologies and standardization. – Contribute to data integration and mapping efforts to harmonize data across the business.
• Act as Subject Matter Expert to govern data products and entities across Commercial Bank. – Execute policies and standards to support commercial operations.
• Utilize balanced judgment to make decisions and innovate in a well-managed way. – Understand and leverage technology and end-state architecture vision.
• Adhere to W3C standards related to ontologies. – Contribute to team culture and mentor junior associates. Role-Based Competencies: – Strategic & analytic orientation – People leadership experience – Product development and implementation
• Execution and project management.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in information science, computer science, engineering, library science, ontology, semantics, or computational linguistics.
• Minimum 4 years experience in a metadata field of work.
• Minimum 4 years experience or training in W3C standards, ontology, and linked data tools. –
• Minimum 4 years experience or training with SQL or SPARQL. Preferred Qualifications: –
• Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant field. –
• At least 5 years of experience in analysis roles.
• At least 2 years of experience in financial services.
• At least 1 year of experience in consulting.
