The Head of FIG Corporate Banking France is a leadership position responsible for implementing Citi’s global strategy to be the best for their clients and achieving market leadership across their ICG offering, delivering results through senior client relationships as trusted advisers, effective management and development of the FIG Corporate Banking team, co-ordination with product partners and other stakeholders, focus on risks, controls and effective deployment of Citi’s capital. The Head of FIG of Corporate Banking France will also have direct client management responsibility.
Corporate finance, risk and capital management skills, a strategic ICG mindset, and execution focus are critical abilities to succeed in this role. The franchise comprises a portfolio of France-based financial institutions companies offering an attractive level of revenue and potential for future growth.
This role will report to the France Head of Corporate Banking and matrix to the EMEA Head of FIG Corporate Banking. This role will be based in Paris, France.
Job Description.
A managing director is someone responsible for the daily operations of a company, organization, or corporate division. In some countries, the term is equivalent to CEO (Chief Executive Officer), the executive head of a company.

Responsibilities.
- Develop and monitor a client-driven franchise growth algorithm, delivered through people, client, and franchise management.
- Understand global market trends to identify growth opportunities, anticipate obstacles and communicate a forward-looking vision responsive to changes in the environment.
- In addition to direct client relationship responsibility, the role carries the responsibility for the management of a team of FIG Corporate Bankers.
- Together with this team and product and risk partners, you will manage overall client relationships, provide a wide range of treasury and corporate finance solutions across the ICG offering, and support our advisory efforts by building and maintaining Trusted Advisor relationships with client seniors.
- Drive client planning, product agnostic cross-selling, client access, and effective capital allocation within the Institutional Client Groups (ICG) Coverage Banker proposition.
- Translate Citi’s strategy into an effective and efficient FIG Corporate Bank business plan and drive a healthy balance between near-term and long-term priorities.
- Meet revenue goals and other goals related to budget, risk management, and credit allocation in partnership with Global Capital Markets (GCM) and Risk.
- Drive innovation and speed to market and promote cross-selling of products across the full ICG platform.
- Partner with the Investment Banking team (locally and regionally) to drive and execute episodic transactions and with key stakeholders, including Risk and GCM, to allocate capital prudently, appropriately, and in adherence to all Citi risk policies.
Requirements.
- 10+ years of extensive relevant banking and sector experience.
- Experience in people management.
- Business Senior Credit Officer preferred.
- Strong corporate finance skills.
- In-depth experience advising clients on debt and capital management, markets solutions, and other strategic solutions across the ICG offering.
- Demonstrated ability to balance between internal management and external client time.
- Demonstrated understanding of compliance issues and regulatory requirements.
- Proven leadership skills and intellectual capability to create momentum and a collective agenda across multiple products with a diverse population and competing priorities.
- Demonstrated intellectual grasp of the industry and ability to anticipate and lead our response to future changes and translate vision into executable plans.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach to ensure limited resources are directed appropriately.
- Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication.
Salary: The total pay for a Managing Director is €164,820 per year in Paris, France.
