Job Description

An organizer specializes in cleaning and sorting out homes and spaces, using various organizational systems and strategies. They are primarily responsible for coordinating with clients and learning their preferences, traveling to different places, determining areas of improvement, and implementing corrective measures.

Organizing your daily schedule and tasks allows you to concentrate on what needs to get done that day instead of being distracted by things around you. You can prioritize sleep and rest easy, knowing it’s done at nighttime.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular direct voter contact through activities like block walking and phone banking
  • Consistently work towards daily and weekly goals around volunteer recruitment and retention, voter contact, and volunteer training and escalation
  • Supervise and provide feedback to volunteers, which can include: assigning work, setting deadlines, monitoring progress and conversation quality, providing performance
  • feedback, and using tracking systems that help the campaign and volunteers contact the most voters
  • Attend and run volunteer events to ensure that volunteers are well-trained, have a good experience, and are re-shifted for future events
  • Promote and train volunteer leaders to take on more prominent roles within the volunteer infrastructure
  • Use systems and spreadsheets for tracking recruitment, work done by volunteers, and other things that help the campaign track our progress
  • Embrace the sometimes tedious and repetitive tasks that are needed to keep volunteer teams thriving, such as making hours of recruitment and confirmation calls, staying on
  • the phone with a volunteer to teach them how to use an essential piece of organizing technology and updating daily spreadsheet trackers
  • Use and teach volunteers to use technology that helps us stay productive and contact voters efficiently (Google Apps, Slack, Zoom, dialer platforms, Mobilize, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Must have access to a laptop, smartphone, and reliable transportation
  • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and evenings, as our program prioritizes working at times when most volunteers are available
  • Ability to work well with a team and take direction and feedback from management
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable using computer technology
  • Comfortable working and interacting with staff and volunteers in an online environment as well as with voters and volunteers in-person as needed
  • No previous campaign experience is necessary for Organizers

Salary & Benefits

  • This is a non-exempt role
  • $45,000/year
  • Healthcare eligibility on the date of hire
  • $50/month cell phone stipend
