They are looking for a Press Officer to develop and deliver effective PR strategies for the French market through product and corporate PR. Working with the Press Manager and under their supervision, the person will play a key role in developing their LifeWear philosophy.
Job Description.
A Press officer is a senior advisor who provides advice on dealing with the news media and, using news management techniques, helps their employer maintain a positive public image and avoid negative media coverage.
They handle all dealings with the media. The role entails a wide range of responsibilities, from preparing press releases and organizing press conferences and interviews to liaising with media contacts and monitoring media coverage of the organization.
A press officer handles relations with the press and media on behalf of the organization he or she represents. This could be, for example, a private business, a public institution or local authority, a political party, a charity, or even a celebrity. Press officers usually work in a press office.
The job of a press officer involves promoting the company’s image in the media (i.e., traditional print media, television, radio, websites, apps, and social networks). This may include, for example, releasing information to media outlets regarding recent or forthcoming initiatives, events, and product launches, responding to inquiries from journalists, or arranging interviews with company spokespeople.
Press officers may typically find themselves preparing and issuing statements regarding actions taken by the organization they represent, responding to crises, and providing media advice to senior management, as and when necessary.
Responsibilities.
- Developing and delivering the seasonal PR Strategy for UNIQLO in France, including both key angles of Product and Corporate PR.
- Growing brand awareness of LifeWear in France, utilizing LifeWear communication as a whole.
- Drafting and distributing press releases and materials that secure optimization of coverage and features.
- Generating coverage across media titles, including digital and printed media (and other channels).
- Working on events and special creative projects alongside external partners that help generate visibility and brand awareness.
- Developing direct media, stylists, influencers, and corporate relationships.
- Working closely with France management team and Marketing EU and Global members to align on all communications and share best practice initiatives.
- Managing the in-house PR showroom with the Press Manager, including all media, key opinion leaders, influencers appointments, press days, special events, stores opening, and related seeding.
- Overseeing reporting ensures that press coverage is managed, monitored, and evaluated, showing how seasonal KPIs are met.
- Managing and delivering events, including overseeing guest lists, invitations, run of the show, and logistics in collaboration with all relevant PR and Marketing team members.
Requirements.
- Minimum of 5 years of retail/fashion/lifestyle PR experience, in-house, and agency, working in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven experience in Corporate PR.
- Proven corporate network to develop corporate angles on sustainability.
- Strong knowledge of the French media landscape and extensive network in the press environment with the ability to generate news across titles.
- Experience using databases, knowledge of the press rather than digital or print, and monitoring. programs necessary for reporting, press release distribution, and media/influencer database management.
- Solid understanding of reactive communications management and issues management.
