In this REMOTE HIRE opportunity, we are seeking a strategic advisor versed in Technical Engineering Sales to support our Mining Solutions client base for the Manitoba and Ontario region.

The right candidate will demonstrate proven success in increasing sales, margins, market share and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  1. Integrity, safety, customer focus & collaboration.
  2. Exceed assigned Process Industries orders received (OR) & gross margin (GM) budget.
  3. The primary focus is on penetration and capturing the maximum share of customer spending.
  4. Lead early engagement with End-users, OEM and EPCMs at all levels within assigned territory.
  5. Responsible for active prospecting, developing & winning opportunities.
  6. Establish and lead ABB teams for best-in-class customer experience by becoming a trusted advisor for customers.
  7. Improve portfolio visibility by engaging in the creation of application sales collateral (such as value-added white papers), support in customer presentations, active participation in industry events, application training classes, competitive intelligence, social media, etc.
  8. Maintain an active sales pipeline at a minimum of triple the budget rate. Gather timely feedback on customer budget and ABB offer position.
  9. Collaborate with market segment and proposal managers to develop strategic pursuit plans.
  10. Prepare value proposals if required; responsible for ABB’s on-time response to customer requests.
  11. ABB CRM is Salesforce; ensure that projects, opportunities, customer interface reports, account plans and contacts are documented/updated in Salesforce in a timely fashion.

Backgrounds

  1. Technical Degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  2. Technical Sales experience in Automation, Engineering, Manufacturing or related industries.
  3. Must be willing to travel 30% or more domestically.
  4. Mining industry experience is strongly preferred but not required.
  5. Experience with Salesforce, and SAP is a plus.
  6. Self-starter, entrepreneurial character, sense of urgency and drive for results, motivated, positive outlook, willingness to take on new, complex and unfamiliar tasks.
  7. Must be detail-oriented, able to multi-task in a team environment and create positive collaboration with co-workers, suppliers & customers.
  8. Strong interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills with customers and co-workers are critical.
