Responsibilities
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service, while ensuring prompt and courteous service is provided to both internal and external contacts
- Manage the Hotel’s business travel and tour & travel accounts including RFPs and prospecting.
- Solicit and engage with new business/clients, while maintaining existing relationships.
- Proactively communicate with the Hotel’s most loyal guests and VIPs such as offering support with reservations, sending pre-arrival communication.
- Create, track, and act upon preferences and requests of elite loyalty members and VIPs
- Maintain an active presence in the Hotel, and organize and participate in Hotel loyalty receptions
- Create, maintain and manage positive and strong relationships with all guests, vendors, departments, colleagues and the global sales network
- Organize and conduct introductory & planning site visits in a professional manner that addresses the needs of the guests/groups, while showcasing our Hotel and offerings
- Work with the Conference Services Manager for an effective pass-over of all group blocks to service catering component
- Create strong relationships across various departments, including Front Office, Culinary,
- Housekeeping, Audio Visual, etc.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports as required. As directed, assist with the compilation of competitive intelligence information.
- Participate in tradeshows, conventions and promotional events within the hotel and trade-related organizations.
Experience and Skills
- Previous Sales experience, minimum 3 years, in a similar setting is required
- Computer literate with Microsoft Office applications is required and prior experience with property management systems is an asset
- A diploma/degree in a related field is an asset
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, both written and verbal are essential, with the ability to build relationships and rapport seamlessly
- Proven ability to problem solve, interact with many moving parts and collaborate with various areas throughout the hotel
- Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to focus attention on guest needs while remaining calm and professional at all times
- Ability to work well under pressure while handling short lead times when necessary
- High attention to detail to ensure the highest level of accuracy
