Senior Project Manager – Caribbean Region (hotel/resort and luxury apartments)

Thatcher Associates have been retained by a successful and well-established Tier 1 contractor in the Northern Caribbean to seek a Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver a large mixed-use development. The project will comprise of a hotel, luxury apartments, stand alone villas and retail units. 

The successful applicant must have a proven track record of delivering international projects on time and budget with the ability to think on their feet and get the best out of the site team. Prior experience working in the Caribbean will be highly advantageous and of particular interest given the uniqueness of building in the Caribbean region over other parts of the world. In order to qualify for this role you must also be available within a period of 8-12 weeks and be able to pass a comprehensive work permit with a clean police record. It is also key to note that single status or married status candidates will be preferred due to the high cost of schooling for children. This is a full-time opportunity and for the right candidate there is a long-term employment prospect with a pipeline of works of at least 5-years.

As the Senior Project Manager you will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of the project reporting to the Senior Leadership Team. You will have full responsibility and coordination of the site team and must have at least 10-years experience in the duties of a Project Manager. Whilst this is a delivery focused role you must have commercial awareness working with the Commercial Team. You must also possess excellent programming/scheduling knowledge and ability in order to ensure the programme is met.

• Demonstrate and understand commercial and contractual importance of project management and ensuring transparency and accountability
• Capable of creating and maintaining critical path analysis of project schedules
• Strong organizational and communication skills, capable of creating, managing and following up a growing a team of players
• Ability to plan, implement and hand over multiple projects in order to accomplish goals within constraints of time, cost, and quality standards.
• The ability to efficiently and competently resolve conflicting problems that may arise.
• Understanding and ability to manage the design process ensuring coordination
• The ability to create, maintain, and constantly look to improve production process.
• Be an initiator, able to set and achieve deadlines personally and for others.
• Confident decision maker

• Degree or relevant qualification in associated field
• Trades background candidates are all considered (degree is not essential but desirable)
• Affiliation or Chartership is a benefit (again not essential but desirable)
• Single status candidates are preferred but married/accompanied status are considered
• Prior international experience is essential and prior Caribbean build experience is highly advantageous
• Prior luxury residential construction experience is essential and/or healthcare
