Responsibilities
- As an integral part of Shell’s Integrated Power Strategy, Shell Energy (SE) and Renewables and Energy Solutions (R&ES) have the ambition to substantially grow their European Business.
For that purpose, SE and R&ES have established a commercial business (R&ES Europe B2B Retail) under the newly created European VP-ship in R&ES.
This business inherits the significant portfolio of C&I customers previously served under Shell Energy and will expand it in terms of customers, volumes, countries and solutions offered.
The Supply & Portfolio Team is an integral part of this strategy and will enable Shell to capture more new opportunities in the country markets.
By focusing specifically on the growth of the B2B and C&I Customer’s Portfolio, ensuring its monitoring while managing its performance.
Roles
- You will be responsible for tracking the exposures daily, which will be the basis for the hedging strategies that the S&P Manager will put in place together with the Traders.
- You will also provide inputs to structure the best and most competitive supply solution to enable the local B2B/C&I organization to grow the customer portfolio
- Interface with the Germany S&P Manager as well as the local Sales Team, Operations and Finance department
- Partner with the Portfolio Management team across Europe to ensure the best cross-country collaboration.
- Administer Deal Entry, Entry Adjustments and Exposure Update.
- Monitor the broader value of the customer, including extrinsic, cross-commodity, cross-service, and life cycle.
- Support the Germany S&P with market intelligence and analysis that can lead to hedging strategies to protect the profitability of the portfolio
- Follow Market regulations and provide support in analysing the impacts on the portfolio
- Provide input in shaping and supporting IT and process capability builds for managing exposures and digitally automating the transactions between Markets.
Qualifications
These are:
- Good knowledge of European Energy markets, with a particular focus on the German markets of gas and power.
- Good knowledge of physical trading and settlement.
- Good understanding of risks and exposures.
- Strong analytical skills and relationship skills, along with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Good attitude at problem-solving with innovative solutions and independency in organizing the tasks
- Beneficial strong technology and coding skills coupled with knowledge of data science (eg Python, SQL)
- Beneficial quantitative background, ideally Bsc/MSc in Math, Engineering or Science based degree
- Fluency in the English and German languages.
