Full Job Description
Duties
- Please note during the COVID-19 Pandemic; the Agency operates in a maximum telework posture for all telework-ready employees occupying a telework-eligible position.
- Performs causative research to resolve critical inventory discrepancies.
- Performs extensive research on inventory discrepancies and imbalances identified through warehouse denials, customer complaints/inquiries, physical inventory counts, location surveys, and special inspections. Etc.
- Determines the causes of discrepancies and makes or coordinates appropriate adjustments to correct inventory records and documents.
- Processes Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDRs). Through research and resolution.
- Performs Shelf-Life updates and Care of Supplies in Storage (COSIS) on the stock as required.
- Participates in evaluating and analyzing trends for inventory discrepancies.
- Assists specialists in the analysis of automated systems and the implementation of new applications.
- Material handling equipment (MHE) such as forklifts and stock selectors may operate to move material.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Supply Technician your resume and supporting documentation must support the:
- Specialized Experience: To qualify at the GS-07 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level. Specialized experience equips the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the position’s duties, typically in or related to the place to be filled. Examples of specialized experience are identified in the Major Duties section of this vacancy announcement and may also include:
- Conducting physical inventories and location surveys
- Investigating stock/record/material discrepancies impacting inventory balances or SDRs
- Preparing reports concerning results of investigations performed.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
- Substitution of education may not be used instead of specialized experience for this grade level.

Physical Demands
- The work is primarily sedentary and occasionally requires walking, standing, stooping, and bending. The work also involves the operation of a computer keyboard for lengthy periods.
Work Environment
- Work is generally performed in a well-lighted and ventilated warehouse area, which involves moderate risks due to noise, fumes, dust, moving Material Handling Equipment, etc. The incumbent must be alert to all safety policies applicable to a warehouse environment.
