Purpose of the position
Facilitate effective and sensitive communication between the field team and the Huotuja communities in the Amazonas State. The translator will be essential in raising awareness of psychosocial care and in individualized consultations.
You will have to help translate the awareness-raising into the Huotuja/Piaroa language, as well as contribute to the translation of beneficiary testimonies, maintaining impartiality, confidentiality, and support to the CESVI protection team in the interaction and understanding of the Huotuja communities.

Cesvi in Venezuela
Since 2019, Cesvi has been working in Venezuela with initiatives in the field of protection of children, adolescent girls, and women in highly vulnerable conditions, including survivors of sexual abuse and exploitation.
Starting in 2021, Cesvi began to implement projects financed by the Country Humanitarian Fund in communities in Caracas. Cesvi will develop its activities in the State of Amazonas, based in Puerto Ayacucho, and travel to other municipalities.
To meet these objectives, the formation of a high-level technical team capable of providing effective responses to the populations served during case management is required; to this end.
Cesvi is looking for a case manager to guide and implement the process and design of action plans aimed at providing a timely and effective response to women survivors of GBV.
SGBV and children and adolescents at risk of protection, including human trafficking for both populations.
Essential attributes
Gender Requirement: Female (This position is open to all candidates, regardless of origin, religion or any other personal characteristic.
The gender specification for this position is based on cultural sensitivity considerations and specific field work requirements, particularly in contexts of care for survivors of gender-based violence and children and adolescents).
Training: Desired, but not mandatory, training at a technical or university level in pedagogy, translation and interpretation, linguistics, or areas related to intercultural communication.
Knowledge and experience
- Advanced command of the Huotuja/Piaroa and Spanish language: Ability to translate and interpret in everyday and technical situations.
- Minimum 2 years verifiable work experience in the state of Amazonas.
- Knowledge and experience in the different adaptations of the Huotuja/Piaroa language by municipality and areas.
- Medium command of the Windows Operating System and tools such as Word and Excel.

Conditions
- Location: Puerto Ayacucho, Venezuela, with trips to other municipalities in the Amazonas state.
- Work type: Daily Worker. Availability to work daily shifts is required according to the needs of the project.
