Job Description.

NAFTA provides unique opportunities for citizens of the United States and Peru to work in Canada. Those foreign nationals covered by NAFTA provisions may be eligible to work in Canada without the requirement for a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) or, in some cases, a work permit.

As of that date, Peruvian citizens, like other visa-exempt foreign nationals, have not required a visa to fly to or transit through Canada. However, they require a valid Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) when travelling to Canada by air.

US and Peruvian citizens looking to enter Canada temporarily as workers have many options. In most cases, you will have first to obtain a work permit, and you might also need to apply for a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). However, some options do not require an LMIA to work in Canada.
