Welcome to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, just outside of beautiful San Diego, California! Formerly known as “Fighter Town USA” MCAS Miramar was previously the site of the US Navy Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor program, more commonly known as Top Gun.
The mission of MCAS Miramar is to maintain and operate Air Station facilities and property while providing services, material support, and training venues that promote combat readiness and support the missions of the 3d Marine Aircraft Wing and other tenants aboard the installation.

The primary function of the position is to plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate the operations and staff assigned to the Officer’s Club and back-of-house (BOH) areas.
Duties
- Responsible for food preparation, inventory, food cost control, menu planning, requisitioning, preparing special dishes as required, and general supervision of all food-related activities.
- Coordinates with the Catering Manager regarding parties, banquets, and protocol functions.
- Plans menus with the management team to ensure adherence to standardized menus and maintain recipe files.
Qualifications
- Five years of professional experience, which demonstrates increasing responsibility for operating a kitchen, developing cost control techniques and processes, and demonstrating knowledge of special and modified diet foods, recipe specifications, and recipe development.
- Prior professional experience must also include supervision of staff with the duty to plan and organize the team’s workload, teach and train others, identify significant factors impacting efficient operations, and provide recommendations.
2. Waitstaff A03
This position is located at F&B Officer’s Club, Miramar. Candidates selected for this position will serve as staff.
Duties
- Performs necessary preparations in the assigned area before opening the dining room, such as; setting the tables with cloths, silverware, glasses, condiments, napkins, and decorations.
- Prepares backup tables with such supplements as butter, ice, coffee, fruits, juices, salads, and breads.
- Must be familiar with the menu for the day, offer suggestions if requested, record desired selections from guests, and turn in orders for preparation in the kitchen.
- Serves side dishes such as salads, fruit dishes, bread, wine, or other beverages.
- When a meal is completed, clear and clean the table and the immediate area and reset the table in preparation for the next guests.
Qualifications
- Skill to serve beverages and meals in the proper manner and sequence.
- Knowledge of proper food handling techniques such as the correct side to serve from and the correct side to remove from.
- Knowledge of the composition of all food items on the menu, whether American or Foreign, the available beverages and wines, and which wines complement specific meals and their proper serving temperatures.
- Skill in proper table setting techniques. Knowledge of simple math calculations to tabulate checks.
- Ability to recognize intoxicated patrons when serving alcohol.
3. Sales Associate NF-1
This position is located at MCAS MIRAMAR. Candidates selected for this position will serve as sales associates.
- Serves as the Sales Associate and is responsible for providing the highest quality of customer service and sales support to all customers in Marine Corps Exchange stores.
- Responsible for meeting all personal and department sales goals
- Assists the Sales and Experience Managers in executing corporate service programs, promotions, and other events.
Qualifications
- At least 1-year of experience working in a customer and sales-focused environment is preferred.
- Cash handling, basic math, and register experience are strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and understand operating standards and procedures for service, service recovery, sales, and store brand and work within the position to execute these standards properly.
- Ability to work in a high-performance atmosphere with a commitment to service and sales goals.
