Types Of Pest Control Methods

The following are the four main methods of pest control:

  • Registered Pesticide
  • Insect Growth Regulators
  • Repellents
  • Pheromones
Registered Pesticide: This method involves the evaluation of pesticide chemicals, usage, and labelling to ensure the pesticide won’t cause any adverse effect on the residents or the environment. The safety of the pesticide must be assessed before it can be accepted or rejected. This process helps evaluate the potential pesticide risks to plants, animals,s, and humans.

Insect Growth Regulators: An insect growth regulator hinders egg maturation from egg to adult. Most insect regulators don’t work on adult insects; they work better on eggs—larvae and pupa. Many eggs treated with this pesticide don’t hatch. They work better with eggs, larvae, and pupa because when they are being controlled, they won’t be able to go through the life cycle, and they will not be able to hatch will cause more miniature reproduction.

Repellents: Insect repellents are chemicals that keep pests away. The repellents can sometimes use on the body to prevent mosquito bites, but they can also be used generally to keep pests away from one’s home. For the most part, however, this method may only be temporary.

Pheromones: These are natural chemicals insects use to communicate with each other. Suppose there is a lot of food in a particular area, insects can release pheromones that let other insects go there, and such is done when there is danger. one can use this method to confuse insects and get them out of one’s home. Pheromones are not a one-size-fits-all solution. You’ll need different pheromones and traps for each type of insect.
