BOC-1934 – Civil Engineer (Transmission Line Projects) – Power projects Civil engineer will be tasked with the following job description:

• Perform the function of Civil Engineer on large or complex projects, including greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Perform structural and civil calculations like foundation calculations, piling, earthworks, retaining walls, dynamic analyses, steel structures, blast-resistant buildings, transmission line towers, substation buildings, etc.
• Interpretation of geotechnical reports.
• Prepare contract requisitions for civil and structural work on assigned projects.
• Check, comment, and approve steel shop drawings.
• Coordination with the civil/structural team and other teams of different disciplines.
• Ensure that all civil/structural engineering works on assigned projects are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the project specifications.
• Carry out periodic inspections of civil and structural work during construction to ensure correct interpretation of designs and issue completion certificates for structural work carried out on assigned projects.
• Perform design document reviews from EPC contractors.
• Perform field reviews of work during construction.
• Analysis of design issues and recommendations for s corrective actions.
• Determine construction cost and material estimates based on civil designs.
• Does field survey & investigations prepare engineering drawings and review design drawings?
• Study of construction drawings and preparation for works.
• Preparation of site working documentation bar bending schedules

Experience:

• Experience in a consulting engineering environment, able to rapidly task switch between projects.
• Working knowledge of International Standards and Codes (ASCE, IBC, Eurocodes, AISC, ACI, etc.)
• Must have worked in STAAD software and Mat3D in Analysis & Design.
• Specialist Engineer in Engineering Design and Detailing of Civil & Structural works of Power Plant and Transmission Line projects.
• Should have relevant experience in the structural design of substation foundations and building and transmission line towers.
• Preparing cost-effective designs for EPC projects

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering
• Minimum 15 years of experience in transmission line design/ power generation plants
• Command of Arabic and English languages is preferred

2. Senior Civil Engineer – Industrial Infrastructure

You will provide civil engineering services to Worley and its customers, including technical support and supervision within the civil engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for successfully delivering infrastructure designs, including producing technical reports, written calculations, design briefs, specifications, drawings, schedules, contract documentation, etc.
• Able to work successfully with other design and management team members on multiple discipline projects, including drafters/designers and supervising engineers.
• Ability to design retaining structures
• Supervision of project designated junior Engineers and draftsmen in the execution of their duties
• Technical supervision of project-designated junior Engineers and draftsmen in executing their duties.
• Follow design guidelines, standards, and procedures to execute assigned work effectively.
• Prepare and adhere to assigned budgets and schedules, integrate team efforts, review work, set priorities, identify and resolve issues promptly and communicate status to the Project Manager.
• Check compliance with QA/Safety/Environment goals.
• Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Worley Quality Management System.
• Safety – Responsible for personal safety and implementing safe working practices.
• HSE – Understand and follow OH&S procedures.

Industry-Specific Experience:

• Minimum 10 years experience.
• Experience in the design of a wide range of infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with British, European, and International standards and other construction practices during project execution.
• Competent in evaluating the condition of existing structures, including condition surveys and projected maintenance programs.
• Able to develop, agree and manage design production schedules and junior staff.
• Have a proven track record of designing complex structures
• Competent in designing pavements and road networks, with experience working in the Middle East.
• Have proven experience in performing FEED and Detailed Design Projects
• Have experience with Major Industrial Clients Preference will be given to candidates with:
• Chartered or working towards Civil or Structural Engineers.
• Experience in ports and harbours, experience in Intakes & Outfalls
• Experience in Industrial infrastructure Hubs and in particular in the Oil and Gas industry
• Experience in the Hydrogen and Ammonia Industry, experience in New Energy Solar or Wind Projects
• Experience in Pumping Stations & Systems, experience in Water Projects & Hydraulic Design

Education (qualifications, accreditation, training)

• Minimum 10-15 Years
• Bachelor of engineering
• Chartership is Considered a plus
• Pipelines design is Considered a major plus
• Intakes and outfalls are considered a major plus
