1. Associate Structural Engineer
You will plan and design structures and facilities such as bridges, tunnels, pumping stations, and other infrastructure buildings in this position. In addition, you may assist in field inspections and the preparation of inspection reports.
Responsibilities:
- Performs various engineering duties and may develop in sub-disciplines of Civil Engineering such as structural and/or geotechnical engineering.
- Responsible for developing engineering computations, material quantity take-offs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
- Under close supervision in the utilization of engineering theories and practices, develops the creation of engineering products that meet customer quality requirements.
- Performs various engineering and design assignments requiring the application of basic principles and fundamental theories studied in a four-year university engineering program and available data in the engineering field.
- Provides support for other engineering activities as required.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
- Some related work experience and/or internships are preferred.
- In addition, an Engineer in Training (EIT) Certificate is preferred
- Requires basic process engineering knowledge and a working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering.
2. Junior Civil Engineer
You will carry out the design of wet utility distribution systems like potable water, firefighting, irrigation, and sewerage networks under the guidance of a senior engineer.
Duties
- Prepares or assists in preparing fundamental engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
- Assists in preparing detailed requisitions for material purchases, services, and subcontracts.
- Under the guidance of a more senior engineer, assists in reviewing supplier drawing submittals and technical bid analyses. Assists in preparing and issuing specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
- Provides input to CAD Designers/Drafters working on the same project.
- Support in preparing the presentations for the Clients.
- The engineer will be required to carry out CAD-related tasks while using special 3D software and model creation.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Create utility cross sections as per requirements of local authorities in the Gulf region like RTA (Dubai), DMT (Abu Dhabi), MOMRA (KSA), etc.
- Basic experience and knowledge of preparing and developing hydraulic models for pressure utilities, design reports, and use of Bentley WaterCAD / WaterGems / Open Utilities / SewerGems or related software with support from Senior Engineer.
Requirements:
- Degree in Civil Engineering from a reputable institution
- Up to 2 years of experience in the design of wet utility distribution systems like potable water, firefighting, irrigation, and sewerage networks,
- Familiar with load demand calculations for large private developments and/ or large government projects.
- Aware of Water / Irrigation / Firefighting / Sewage Authority regulations such as DEWA, ADDC/ ADWEA / TRANSCO, DM, ADM, DCD, ADCD, and other relevant authorities within the gulf region.
- Aware of the requirements for the hydraulic design of the Pump stations.
- Conversant with the British and American codes as well as DEWA / DM regulations for potable water and irrigation designs.
- Experience liaising with DEWA / DM to obtain NOCs and Design Approvals is desired.
