About The Company.
Prestige Recruitment Specialists Limited is recruiting on behalf of their long-term client Cranswick Country Foods Preston. The site in Preston, Hull, originally dates back to the 1970s. Cranswick Bought the facility in the early 1990s, which was the start of their venture into retail. Today, Preston is the largest pork processor in the UK and is affectionately known as the heart of their client Cranswick Country Foods, supplying raw materials to all their sister sites. With all that in mind, their client is looking to invest and expand the team and have numerous immediate opportunities for butchery and trimming personnel across all grades ranging from unskilled to top skilled butchers. Successful candidates will work in a pork processing environment; you will work on fast-paced lines, cutting shoulders, legs, and belly meat ready for transfer to the preparation departments/sister sites for packing, processing, and labeling. Candidates that are reliable, flexible, self-motivated, and hardworking would lead a permanent opportunity.
Responsibilities.
- Applicants to have good attention to detail for quality control and despatch of customers’ orders.
- Applicants must be physically fit due to the nature and responsibilities of the role.
- Applicants will be required to prepare the meat, which includes cutting Shoulder, leg, and belly meat following onsite slaughter.
- Ensuring and continuously checking the quality of products on the line.
- Reliable, well-mannered and have a good absence and timekeeping record.
- Conscientious, enthusiastic, and willing to meet deadlines.
- Work on your initiative and work well in a team.
- Proactive with a desire and attitude to learn and develop.
- An excellent attitude towards Health and Safety will be expected to work at a high standard.
- Complying with food Safety and Quality procedures at all times.
- Butchery experience is desirable but not essential. Preferably Pork is advantageous.
Benefits.
- Overtime payment of 1 x 1.333 of basic rate after 40 hours worked per week.
- Overtime at time and a half and double time at weekends when required.
- Potential earnings of up to £42,000 per annum depending on experience.
- Working on a Monday to Thursday shift pattern 06:00 – 16:00 and Friday 06:00 – 14:30.
- Attendance bonus of £1 per hour for all hours worked per week.
- Immediate starts following completion of registration, bench test, and induction.
