As an Account Director, you will be the primary contact to day-to-day and senior clients on your respective accounts, proactively leading the business and providing strategic counsel.

This role requires you to lead and manage events, sponsorships, and integrated communications across the various Publicis divisions and guide programs through flawless execution with the support of junior resources and external partners.

This person must demonstrate strategic capability, influencing skills, and business acumen to instill confidence in clients and organizational solid financial management.

The Account Director will take a leadership role in all aspects of the client business, including proactively leading the development of experiential plans in partnership.

The Vice President, Sponsorship & Events, and overseeing and managing plans with support from broader Sponsorship & Events team members and respective Publicis brand teams.

This Director position may also support sponsorship consulting projects in partnership with the Vice President, Sponsorship & Events.

The experiential planning process will include, but not be limited to, collaboration with Publicis creative and account teams in concept creation and scoping solutions, including feasibility.

They also deal with costs and timelines, working with internal partners and external vendors, budget development, event/venue contracting drafting, and facilitating the legal review.

Publicis counsel also integrates with marketing communications plan development in partnership with Publicis planners, strategists, account leads, and client IATs, objective and KPI setting.

Preparing client presentations (pitches, plans, post-analyses) and overseeing the execution of experiential events with Sponsorship & Events team support.

In addition, the Account Director must be able to effectively manage internal teams and external partners and ensure timely preparation of work back schedules and budgets.

Responsibilties

  • Serving as the primary contact with clients, providing high-quality, proactive communication and strategic and innovative event, and integrated marketing guidance;
  • Fully understand all aspects of the client’s business and their competitive business environment.
  • Consider and explore new strategic opportunities for clients and optimize internal performance.
  • Develop internal new business opportunities within accounts and external new business strategies to support the Publicis Sport & Entertainment division
  • Take a leadership role in communicating account activity throughout the agency to stimulate opportunities across new and existing clients.
  • Create a work environment that is proactive in seeking both new business opportunities and keeping current with leading-edge marketing tactics in and outside of the industry
  • Take ownership in decision-making on the client’s business
  • Develop a positive and communicative relationship with all clients
  • Inspire the team to develop award-winning creative strategies and campaigns
  • Build and champion the integration of the business by leading and facilitating cross-divisional discussion and planning
  • Ensure the agency produces work to the highest level of quality, on time, and within budget
  • Manage agency resources and build interdepartmental relationships
  • Account-based budgeting, forecasting, and hours tracking Develop staffing plans, budgets, and promotions and take an active role in creating a positive agency culture
  • Take an active role in developing all direct reports, providing mentorship, and conducting ongoing performance evaluations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years of event experience
  • Agency experience preferred but open to corporate and event property experience
  • Demonstrated strategic thinker with strong influencing skills
  • Proactive takes the initiative and motivates others
  • Track record of building strong client relationships
  • Ability to inspire award-winning creative
  • Drive to deliver a high standard of work consistently
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to lead projects across large groups of stakeholders
  • Experience managing people, demonstrating mentoring solid and leadership abilities
  • Superior organizational, financial, and time management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Understanding of Canadian event landscape, venues, and vendors
  • Ability to design and deliver presentations with a creative flair
  • Proficient in MS office.
