Company Description

Turner & Townsend is looking for a Project Manager to support large-scale, ground-up and renovation construction projects with our prominent Industrial, Life Sciences and Technology (IS&T) clients.

The role will be responsible for all aspects of project delivery, from inception through to commissioning and handover.

Duties

1. Contributing to our achievement of Turner & Townsend’s global vision
2. Contributing to our IS&T business plan objectives, and strategy
3. Establishing professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders (consultants and contractors) involved in the projects and programs we deliver
4. Working with the client to establish overall project cost, schedule, and budget
5. Managing and collaborating with client, consultant, and contractor teams to achieve project deliverables
6. Delivering clear and concise reporting to clients to provide visibility on project status, risks, and issues, and allow our clients to make timely and informed decisions
7. Setting up and leading meetings, transcribing meeting minutes and driving action items to closure.
8. Ensuring project compliance with client’s document controls and file specifications.
9. Administering a variety of contracts and master service agreements by project objectives and policies for the entire project lifecycle.
10. Attending up to weekly site visits when under construction times travelling outside the GTA area in Ontario and Other Provinces around Canada.
11. Oversee and manage the transfer of the building operations to the client including all close-out documentation and warranties.
12. Liaison with the Constructor during construction to facilitate a smooth transition to the Client/Tenant Fit Out / Operations Phase

Qualifications

1. Previous experience and a sound and suitable understanding of the following will be a distinct advantage in applying for this role:

3. Whilst we will consider candidates with a range of sector experience, candidates with experience in the following sectors are particularly sought.
4. Industrial Warehouses
5. Data Centres
6. High-Tech Manufacturing
7. Life Science Laboratories
8. Other highly serviced critical infrastructure projects
9. Sound knowledge of all disciplines related to IS&T
10. Contract Management
11. Scheduling (Software experience including MS Project, P6)
12. Identifying and driving efficiencies and improvements through the project lifecycle
13. Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management and value engineering.
14. Advanced skills with spreadsheets, report writing and presentations.
15. Strong and professional communication skills, with great organization skills, and the ability to multitask.
