POSITION TITLE: EKS Senior Analyst
Role overview
Elanco Knowledge Solutions (EKS) is dedicated to empowering our global customers by transforming raw data into valuable information and insightful knowledge with digital solutions. Our focus spans across a diverse spectrum of food animal sectors namely Beef, Dairy, Poultry, Protein Processing, and Swine. Our team aims to construct and maintain data systems that elevate our customers’ experience and decision-making. This is a hybrid opportunity at our Greenfield, IN site.
Day to day responsibilities
Platform Development
- Create and implement full-scale project management plans to track milestones and deliverables with internal teams and third-party vendors.
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path while facilitating accountability of cross functional teams.
- Effectively communicate project status and risks to key stakeholders.
- Collaborate across internal and external teams to accurately define critical customer needs and create the necessary requirement documents.
- Collaborate with IT and IT vendors to identify solutions and deliver mobile and web-based application development.
- Coordinate and execute successful cross functional user acceptance testing of new solutions.
- Train and support launch activities of new solutions.
- Work as a contributing member of multiple concurrent projects.
- Utilize process efficiency and critical thinking skills for continuous improvement of existing systems, tools and processes.
- Learning agility toward technical solutions and processes.
Customer Focus
- Gather information needed to properly trouble shoot issues, communicate needs, next steps, and potential resolution timelines professionally and politely to customers (internal and external).
- Resolve or escalate issues appropriately, ensuring customer needs are met through strong personal accountability and follow-up.
- Create and maintain training materials for EKS Operations process and procedures.
- Train new team members in EKS Operations processes and procedures.
- Help prepare training materials for external users.
Data Quality and Management
- Learn, understand, and optimize data processes via working with other teams to automate using technology and integration into current systems.
- Execute and maintain data ingestion, quality validation, and integration with other data on daily/weekly/monthly basis paying strict attention to detail and maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve data anomalies in the data transformation flow, from external data sources to final data repositories.
- Take an active role in resolving data issues and delivering solutions.
- Ensure data privacy and security.
Required Skills, Experience And Education
- Bachelor’s degree in in Information Technology, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Animal Science, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience as a business analyst, project manager, systems development, or related role.
- Experience in generating process documentation and reports.
- Experience translating business needs into written requirements for creating or enhancing web or mobile-based tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications including Excel and Visio
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to translate data into actionable insights. Skilled in exhaustively and objectively questioning stakeholders to uncover objectives, requirements, and edge cases.
- Ability to facilitate and lead cross functional teams.
- Comfort with navigating uncertainty, and realigning projects as business needs change.
- Prefer team environment – Open to new ideas; Respectful of all views; Ability and willingness to seek out and understand others’ ideas to incorporate into their work.
- Strong work ethic, upbeat personality with a sense of urgency, initiative, responsive and proactive approach to work and communication.
- Ability to stay aligned with management on prioritizing work across multiple projects with potentially different teams.
- Self-starter able to manage their own workload without direct supervision; Will seek out new work or projects if they have capacity; Works with a customer service attitude.
- Follow-up communication on action items and project status. Willing to speak up when a mistake is made and own the resolution of the issue.
Preferred Skills Experience And Education
- Experience in waterfall and agile development.
- Ability to work daily with large and small data sets, while maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the data.
- Experience with data visualization.
- Proficiency with SQL and database management.
- Customer service/interaction experience.
- Experience developing compliance standard operating procedures.
- High proficiency in technical writing.
- Knowledge of Agricultural Sustainability standards.
- Experience with Miro board, JIRA, or similar programs used in ideation and digital development.
- Strong passion and desire to learn and work within all animal production segments, with extra consideration given to candidates with experience in the farm animal industry.
Location & Expected Travel Percentage
- 5-15% travel.
Elanco currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from $65,700.00 to $109,500.00 depending partly on the successful candidate’s qualifications, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending partly on company and individual performance). Additionally, Elanco offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees that includes a company-matching 401(k); vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities). Of course, the compensation is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above.
