About The Role

DNV’s Measurements Department is seeking a sales professional to join our team as a Business Development Engineer. Your role will be to combine new sales and account management, supporting the challenging and competitive demand of our future strategies within offshore/onshore wind and solar sectors within the Southern Europe, Middle East, LATAM, and Africa market with a main focus on France and North Africa.

DNV’s Measurements Team delivers high quality resource measurements to help wind farm developers to assess the energy production of the potential wind and solar plants. On the wind turbines and PV modules the team also do measurements to assure its functionality and performance when placed in operation (onshore and offshore). We are engineers, scientists and business people dedicated to the success of the renewable energy industry. In short, we verify through measurements, that renewable plants will produce enough high-quality energy over their service life. Our measurements expertise is also applied in mechanical loads, power quality, acoustics, and grid code compliance testing.

The DNV Measurements team consists of approximately 50 staff located in Spain, France, Italy, Brazil, Chile, México and South Africa. It is part of a global team of Measurements experts with other competence centers in China, India, Germany, Australia and USA with further expertise in other DNV offices.

As a Business Development Engineer – Wind Energy, you will contribute to the goals for market penetration, order intake, revenues and profitability throughout the Measurements Department.

Your Daily Tasks Will Include

 

  • Promoting and selling the company’s services,
  • Understanding market demands, the needs of our customers, and how our measurements services match them,
  • Proactively developing strong relationships with new clients within the Renewables market within France and North Africa,
  • Generating high quality leads, developing a robust sales funnel, converting leads into opportunities and bring them to contract,
  • Collaborating internally to develop and present value add proposals to prospective and existing clients,
  • Bid management,
  • Undertaking account management activities of existing clients as assigned, as well as managing leads and following up on them in a timely and structured manner,
  • Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure the expected profit margin on business operations,
  • Managing and maintaining high quality data within the CRM system on an ongoing basis,
  • International travel within the region.

About You

To be successful in this role, you need to have:

  • Drive for business development and passion for proactive sales activities,
  • Relevant degree in Economics, Renewables or equivalent qualification,
  • Demonstrable business development and sales experience, preferably within Renewables Measurements field,
  • Strong negotiation skills,
  • Project management skills,
  • Fluent command of French and English, both written and spoken,
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.

Although not required, below elements will be considered a plus:

 

  • Experience and general understanding of Renewables (offshore/ onshore/solar) sector,
  • Previous experience in the field of Renewables Measurements,
  • Proactive and problem-solving attitude,
  • Organizational and time management skills.
