- Respond to inbound Pharmacy calls, demonstrating customer service excellence, and triage to the appropriate clinicians; communicate with patients, prescribers’ offices, and associates with a focus on patient care.
- Enter and maintain non-preferred drug requests in the prior authorization system, if applicable.
- Contact insurance companies or payers to complete prior authorization requirements, identify co-pay structure, and investigate coverage and benefits.
- Provide information and respond to requests to assist in obtaining co-pay cards or financial assistance for patients, as applicable.
- Assist in inventory control such as auditing receipt of goods, inventorying, stocking, pricing, monitoring usage, and correcting pricing and quantities in the computer.
- Package and ship orders as needed.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy.
- Participate in pharmacy orientation programs, training programs for Pharmacy Technicians, pharmacy staff meetings, in-service education programs, and other functions as required by the facility and pharmacy department. Complete required training, as assigned, within the established timeframes. Maintains regular attendance according to established policies.
Requirements.
- Minimum Experience: A minimum of 2 years of prior pharmacy tech experience in a retail or speciality pharmacy setting
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outpatient pharmacy systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize daily tasks
